how much would a fishing license in NC cost ? I need to know how much it would cost for an out of state saltwater fishing liscense would cost in North Carolina?

Which center console boat for saltwater fishing with a head? I'm interested in getting a small (18'-25') center console boat for the family. We like to fish at the beach, in and around the intercoastal waterway, NC. I would like to have one with a head (potty) for the comfort of the kids and ladies. What can you recommend.

Do you think that there is a vast difference in West Coast Saltwater fishing and East Coast Saltwater fishing? Since I've been on this forum, I've seen (and read) a vast difference in rigging, lures, procedures and general tackle differences from Coast to Coast. Why do you think this happens? Is it a cultural, regional or terrain difference ?? (Terrain difference- Rocky shoreline VS Sandy-bottom; Gulf Stream, Etc) It's very rare that I will answer West Coast Q about saltwater fishing because of the answer's I've seen given from Peter_AZ and others. (Pete obviously knows his stuff in regards to West Coast fishing.) Good example's of this I've seen are "Line sizing", "Kite fishing" & "Offshore Spinning outfits". I've never seen or read about anyone on this forum from the West Coast use a fairly common offshore technique like Kite fishing and yet on the East Coast from NC-FL Kite fishing is a viable way to fish. Spinning outfit's, (esp "Bait-runner" type), have a huge following on the East Coast from SC-TX and yet when I mention using them for the West Coast, many West Coaster's balk at the concept. Line sizes- Line sizes for trolling are VERY different from West to East Coast. Many times when I've gone Trolling offshore in and around Fla the heaviest line spooled on any 1 rod was 30-40LB, (and most were spooled with 15-20LB Pink Ande or Big Game!). I mention 20LB line and West Coast guys balk......it's got to be 30-50LB! (And NO the fish are the same size- I've caught 32LB Kingfish, Wahoo, Mahi on 20LB line. If the techniques, tackle, and procedures are so vastly different from Coast to Coast wouldn't it be better to NOT give advice on fishing you know very little about? Justinto- Nice answer. I love Fish & Grits, (or Polenta; a fancy name for grits), too! Add some Hush Puppys, steamed Oyster's on the half-shell, and grilled Asparagus and I'm THERE! (lol) Brandon- I think you hit the nail on the head in many respect's! But, I wonder if it's not also "terrain" or bottom-structure oriented, (or something else)? Brackish water fishing in NC...salt or freshwater license? I'm not sure which is needed if fishing in an area of brackish water... saltwater license or freshwater license? Thanks!!

Sound Fishing from and Ocean Kayak: Rods? I plan to go fishing in the Pamlico Sound in NC in the spring. I plan on using a kayak. Will I need a special rod to do this or will a freshwater rod work fine? I have saltwater reels, but I'm used to surf fishing, so I need a shorter rod for the kayak. Thanks! i need some fish tank help?!?!?!? So my girl whats a fish tank for x mas. lol that's weird i no but any way she really does not care what kind i kinda what a saltwater tank i no theres 3 different kinds fresh, salt, and reef i need to no the minimum requirements for each one (PS: lol i have plenty of pets so care for them is not a issue i have 1 ferret named lexi 1 Chameleon named lucky 2 dogs name static and brandi, and last the one i don't really like but i care for it bc i felt sorry for it snowball the cat lol)(Oh yea i will be at the next reptile expo in Raleigh NC bc my chameleon and my buddys just mated so if u would like one meet me there they will be sold)
