What is a website I can go to-to get a map of Harrison Michigan Lakes? Or you can find a map of the lakes. Like: Dodge Lake Townline Sand Lake etc.
Height of elevation required to see ~45 miles across Lake Huron, from Michigan to Canada? How high of a tower would have to be built to enable someone to have line-of-sight across Lake Huron from White Rock, Michigan to Canada (approximately in the area of Goderich)? According to MSN Maps, this is a distance of approximately 45 miles, or so. Is there a formula or some calculation to approximate this, given the curvature of the earth?
Lake Michigan vs. Lake Victoria? Why does lake Michigan look bigger than lake Victoria on all the maps i see? i know that (not counting oceanic lakes) Superior is the biggest, then Victoria. But on a map, it looks like superior, MICHIGAN, then Victoria. any reason?

Buying a car at an auction in Michigan, Can I travel through Canada from Ny to get there quicker? I am going to be bidding on a car at an auction in Lansing Michigan. I live along Lake Ontario in NY. If I win the auction, Yahoo Maps is giving me a route that goes through Canada. I will be in a pick up truck with my father who has a trailer that he will load the car onto. What documents would I need to be able to do this?

What is the closest cross street to this address in Salt Lake City? The streets aren't gridded where I'm from so it confuses me... but i'm wondering what the nearest cross street is to the address below, because I'm going soon and need to be able to describe its location to cab drivers. THANKS in advance!! Address: 1300 Michigan Avenue in Salt Lake City, UT Link to map: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&addtohistory=&address=%5b1300%2d1499%5d%20Michigan%20Ave&city=Salt%20Lake%20City&state=UT&zipcode=84105&country=US&location=pQqi2VGFCfHHtjQof%2bkhRFRgAJFKx5K6xvkB3sWjebyTEHTbP%2fTHNadQ0%2bK1J%2fGyEZPMTOvLvRoNFGNVRiEGtMBjFZhY6oNjPFBDiI5hwYluYgRM5%2f97G9nct2TBDcqG5PDLhMs5ICBqLDK1Y%2f6AykvjUWJIMAPocPLJMB4v7MU%3d&ambiguity=1
Is there a physical division between Michigan and Ontario? I have looked at various maps on google images, and it is very hard to tell because of the way the thick American-Canadian border is drawn between the two. I can not tell if they are separated by a narrow stretch of water, or if they border one another on land, with a lake between them. Thanks in advance for any answers.
If I was on a boat in the middle of Lake Huron, Erie, Ontario, Michigan or Superior, what Country would I...? ...be in? Would I be in the USA or Canada? Tough Q I think, unless Canada and US have terratorial boundaries on the lakes, which I find impossible as how on earth could anyone map that. So if I was in that boat, woul I literally be in no Country? Just on water in between 2 Countries? In a whole new world? BlueSpirit
Drainage Basin or Watershed Maps? Are there any maps, perhaps color-coded, that show drainage basin or watershed areas, either for the U.S. or (preferably) for the world? The Continental Divide in the Rockies would certainly be a boundary, but there are many others too. Somewhere in the East, there must be a 3-way junction between the Hudson River basin, the Ohio/Mississippi River basin, and the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence basin. And somewhere in the West there's a "Humboldt Sink" which has no outlet to the ocean. Michigan's Lower Peninsula has rivers which empty into Lakes Michigan, Huron, and Erie; and Wisconsin must have rivers which empty into Lakes Superior and Michigan, as well as the Mississippi. I think an appropriately color-coded map would be very interesting, but I've never seen one.
Again.. Does anyone know the meaning of a lake in Wisconsin call Lac Du Lune? I have to ask again because the person that thought they had so much knowledge and thought they knew what they were talking about was wrong.. If they own a map or an atlas and they checked they would see there is a lake in the Wisconsin called Lac Du Lune, up near Michigan and the Eagle River area. So you see the lake is not fake.
what's that place near michigan and canada that's sometimes not even on the map? some guy a while back told me he was raised in some place, i forgot what it was called, but he said sometimes it's not even on Canadian or American maps.. It's near that area of Lake Superior i think. thanks.

Did steamboats traveling on a lake or river in the Pre-Civil War era stop at night, or did they keep going? I have a plot a map of escape for Huck Finn and Jim for my english class. I have them going on a steamboat around Michigan to Windsor, which is next to Detroit. I need to find out how long it takes them. It's 600 miles, at 10 MPH. However, I don't know if steamboats take breaks at night. This could significantly change me answer, so if you know, please answer. Thanks. From chicago.
Where are Chicago's rich and poor located? In Chicago, what area(s) of town do poor people accumulate, and where do the rich gather? Looking at a map, I would think that the rich people live in the north, near the coast of Lake Michigan and that the poorer people would be in the south or in East Chicago. What neighborhoods or suburbs are most known for being poor and rich areas? .

Theres this place in Chicago where we get off at the Fullerton exit off of Lake Shore Drive and walk to the beach and chill on the docks on Lake Michigan. Where do I find a zip code for there? Did You Know This About Obama? Obama lives in a southside neighborhod called "Hyde Park hicago". It's a neighborhood built by the famous lake Michigan--I live about 8 blocks from him--he lives about 6 blocks from "The University of Chicago". Since Hyde Park is considered innercity there is some crime there you wouldn't find in a sheltered affluent suburban community. Hyde Park is very strange--it is one of THE MOST SUCCESSFULY "INTEGRATED" COMMUNITIES IN THE INNERCITY AMERICA TODAY--HAS BEEN FOR YEARS. Blacks, Whites, Latino, Asian, Indian, Student, Professors, Very, Very Rich, Muslims (famous ones too), Poor Black, Poor White, (nobel winners) etc. all live in harmony--my building is completed mixed, and also has plenty, plenty of Gays, Balcks males, etc. --it donesn't matter in Hyde Park. This too is a large part of who Obama is--learn more about the positive things about him to give a rounder picture. If you search enough on the google maps--you will see his block I believe it's 4900 S Greenwood. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyde_Park,_Chicago check it out. beleive me, i've worked for some of the professor who live there--they did move to the quiet richer lake forest suburbs but came back to the "ghetto" that they properly and affectionately refer to it as, because it feels very real--i swear all of you--haters alike would llike it. it's very American and very modern. Nice little shops--they don't allow BIG BOX in Hyde park thank God or the little shop keepers would go outta business. it's very nice. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=4900+s+greenwood&jsv=107&sll=41.872565,-87.621889&sspn=0.029272,0.079994&layer=c&ie=UTF8&ll=41.809596,-87.600474&spn=0.007325,0.019999&z=16&cbll=41.805914,-87.603423&cbp=1,358.63322847060897,,0,1.1931461343071412 another view. my question is legitmate--did you know this about obama's neighborhood--goes to charactor since we are discussing it here (those of us with a brain) if you want to rant--go to a rant board.

We're freezing in NY...What are you doing to keep warm in these near zero degree night time temps...? Deep Freeze Grips Midwest, Northeast Cold Temperatures Linked to Seven Deaths By WILLIAM KATES AP (Feb. 6) - After an unusually warm December and a mostly snow-free January, winter returned with a vengeance Tuesday to the upper Midwest and Northeast, dumping heavy snow on parts of New York and keeping temperatures well below zero in many cities. Cold Snap Maps: Current Windchills Windchill Forecast More Coverage: Local Seven-Day Forecast Talk About It: Post Thoughts The bitter cold and bone-chilling winds forced dozens of schools in New York, Wisconsin and Michigan to close for a second day, including districts in Buffalo, Rochester and Milwaukee. "I knew we'd have to pay up somewhere down the line for all that nice weather," said Chris Sachel, who owns a drive-in restaurant outside Fulton, northwest of Syracuse. Cold air from the Arctic stretched from the northern Plains through New England, and temperatures were below zero as far south as the mountains of West Virginia. At least seven deaths had been blamed on slippery roads and the bone-chilling temperatures. The cold wind picked up moisture from the Great Lakes, creating lake-effect squalls that have dumped 3 to 4 feet of snow this week on parts of New York state at the eastern end of Lake Ontario. Annual snowfall in the area averages more than 20 feet. Frigid Temperatures The lake-effect squalls continued Tuesday, and meteorologists expected the weather pattern to continue through early next week. "All we can do at this point is wait it out until Mother Nature is done kicking us," said Randy Bateman, mayor of Oswego, which declared a snow emergency, banning all nonessential travel so plows could clear roads.

What is YOUR definition of Chicagoland? No one can agree on that question. How much of Indiana do you include? Do you include any of Indiana? What about Wisconsin? Is Michigan really close enough to be included? I have seen what the experts think, I know what maps the weathermen use. I am interested to know what you think. Explain your opinion. Please put your location in the "source" category. It doesn't have to be overly speciffic, just your state, and preferably the part of the state (NE Illinois, etc). In my opinion, it includes NE Illinois, going as far west as Rockford, and as far south as Kankakee. This is generally accepted. Outside of NE Illinois, I believe it includes only Lake and Porter counties in Indiana. Many people will disagree with me, I know that. However, here is my explanation to you: The area within Illinois is generally agreed on, it is out of state that is not. In Indiana, I believe that only those two counties are a part of Chicago culture. The rest of NW Indiana is more absorbed in it's own culture, Indiana culture. Lake and Porter counties are a part of Chicago's culture, but the rest really isn't. As far as SW Michigan: NOPE! Michigan doesn't even border Illinois, and the Michiana (MI + IN) border is about 70 miles away from Chicago and takes over 1.5 hours to get there. In Wisconsin, the nearest bordering counties are only an hour away. But, trust me, they are in no way a part of Chicago culture. Sure, there are some Cubs fans there, but they are 100% Wisconsin.
Need help from someone smart please!? Okay so i was just thinking how can there be Beach's in the middle of continents if continents are just a piece of land like i live in Michigan so it makes sense that we have a lake be cause were just on the ege of a lake were there is water but when i look at a map and see the U.S all scrunched up together i see no water in between states so how can there be water in a continent? Thanks
questions about xc season? i got this email 2 days ago and here it is: Huskie Runners- I hope you are enjoying your summer break so far. My intent was to get this information out to you no later than last Friday however my wife went into labor last Thursday and our twin daughters were born on the next day. We have only been home since Monday night and it has been busy adjusting to being a family of four. In short I apologize for not getting this information out sooner. 1. Cross country conditioning (what we affectionately call Summer Running) officially starts Monday July 12th at 8 a.m. We will meet at West middle school's parking lot . XC conditioning is not mandatory but absolutely essential to be competitive by the fall and not get hurt in the process. Conditioning is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to roughly 10 am. (sometimes we get done a bit sooner, occasionally a bit later.) More details on a week by week basis. 2. Cross country team camp will be a bit later this year. XC camp will be from August 26th to August 29th. This year we will be going to Portage Lake Covenant Bible Camp in Onekama Michigan. In their off season, they rent out their incredible facilities to teams and school groups at a reduced cost. This year we will be there with the Cross country teams from Olivet college and Saranac High School. The cost for Camp including our lodging, food, rope course, canoe trip, and fuel is only $150. We encourage all of our team members who have the appropriate mileage to join us for this incredible experience of training and team bonding. 3. I am happy to announce that Joe Hartley will be joining our coaching staff this season as an assistant coach. Joe is a former Northern XC and track runner who has much running experience and also helped coach our distance team for Track & field this past spring. Coach Heather Schilacci will also be joining us again as well as cameo appearance from Coach Dave (who has recently mapped out the trail mileage for our favorite paths at Al Sabo preserve) and other alumni runners. 4. Start running on your own Now!!!!! Do not wait until July 12 to get into shape. A. If you are brand new to running Cross country, start over the next 3 weeks by running 3-4 times per week for 20-30 minutes each time. If it feels to easy...then go about five minutes longer. B. If you are a veteran runner then you need to be running more mileage than. Shoot for running five times per week. (Two longer runs and 2 shorter runs with the shorter runs being 3 to 4 miles in length. C. If you are returning varsity runners then you need to be looking for weekly mileage around 30 miles for guys and 20 miles for girls per week. If you haven't run for a while you will have to drop that mileage down a bit for the first couple of weeks, but at least be running for durations of 20 to 30 minutes. We must build some endurance. i dont quite get it, like for the camp, what would appropriate mileage be cause i was running 3+ miles when i did track and i was like one of the best distance runners. seccond what would i be a veteran runner or beginner cause i was one of the best distance runners on the track team this season but since the season ended on 5-20, i have not ran since and now im in china and i ran for like 20 min yesterday but got cut short cause it was raining and it felt pretty hard. i mean i can usually run 3+ miles easily and the 20 min of running felt hard but i think it was aat a pretty fast pace. i also cant arrive at the summer training cause i am stuck in china till july 18 or 23 so i dont know how much they run and how hard they run and stuff. could you guys help with a schedule i could follow. i plan on running tomorrow morning. HELP!! thank you very much!!!

Dream Interpretation? I PROMISE 10 points best answer????? Hello, I had a dream last night...the first thing i remember is seeing an aerial view of the atlantic coast states...it looked like a map at first but i could see things happening in the map (I don't live on the atlantic coast)...as i was viewing the map, i noticed a car driving from New York to Michigan...it was me driving the car. It was like i was looking down at myself. I noticed all the details as the car was moving, convenient stores, shops etc...i then saw myself park the car near a lake. I then saw myself fishing (i don't fish). I caught 1 fish, then i got back in my car and went to a mental hospital. I admitted myself in it and then i entered a room where i saw a boy chasing a ghost of a woman around another map of the U.S and there were 2 or three unknown people in the background...i had the same exact dream of the scene where the boy was chasing the ghost and the background people a week ago, there was just more detail before that in my last dream....i would appreciate...... ...any advise or an interpretation on this....i have had dreams where iview things from space in dreams before, it is very weird because it's like i'm viewing earth from space! again i would appreciate advise on this.........

It was like i was looking down at myself. I noticed all the details as the car was moving, convenient stores, shops etc...i then saw myself park the car near a lake. I then saw myself fishing (i don't fish). I caught 1 fish, then i got back in my car and went to a mental hospital. I admitted myself in it and then i entered a room where i saw a boy chasing a ghost of a woman around another map of the U.S and there were 2 or three unknown people in the background...i had the same exact dream of the scene where the boy was chasing the ghost and the background people a week ago, there was just more detail before that in my last dream....i would appreciate...... an interpreation...this is not the first time i have had dreams where i view earth from space...i dreamed i saw lief ericsson sailing to America and saw tribal people from space in dreams also....thanks constellation...i believe i am artistic...was always good at english and bad at math
Why does Canada get Southern Ontario? Shouldn't it be ours? If you look at a map of Canada, there is an area called Southern Ontario that goes really far south compared to the rest of Canada. New York, PA, Ohio, and Michigan surround it. It's where most of Canada's population is, and they have big cities there ... but why does Canada get that area? It would make more sense if we had it because geographically, it should be part of the U.S, since it sort of sticks into our country. Also, if we had Southern Ontario we would own all of the great lakes, Toronto, and all of Niagara Falls. People who live in New York and want to travel to Michigan, can travel right through that area IF they have a passport ... but what about the Americans who don't? They would have to go all the way around through PA and Ohio. So, why don’t we have that area? Shouldn’t we annex it?
Buying a car at an auction in Michigan, Can I travel through Canada from Ny to get there quicker? I am going to be bidding on a car at an auction in Lansing Michigan. I live along Lake Ontario in NY. If I win the auction, Yahoo Maps is giving me a route that goes through Canada. I will be in a pick up truck with my father who has a trailer that he will load the car onto. What documents would I need to be able to do this?
